Chaotic Thoughts is RYKN GREY’s second album. The album’s eight tracks cover a diverse range of emotions and genres, from sad indie folk to angry alt-rock. The album starts with Once More, a long emotional build that pulls at the heartstrings. Next a short but powerful synth-pop Way You Care pounds arpeggios and distorted guitar lines. Cotton Candy brings the next emotion; angry lyrics and harsh guitar. The vibes settle out before turning to sadness in All The Things. Art Museum continues the solemn feelings into January, the first happy song on the Album. Orange Skies finally brings the long-awaited instrumental climax, with screaming guitars, vocals, and drums. To round out the album, I Should Know Better leaves the listener with more question and longings than answers.
